About Us
WHO WE ARE
Our Family, Our Farm, Your Table
Kopp’s Turkeys is a proud, family-owned turkey processing facility located along the Whitewater River in Harrison, Ohio. For over 90 years, we’ve been raising, processing, and selling high-quality, farm-fresh turkeys. Today, we raise our own holiday birds at our farm in Jasper, Indiana. We also process and distribute birds from trusted farms across the Midwest.
What began as a small family operation that only sold to the Kroger Brothers at Findlay Market has grown into a trusted name throughout Ohio and beyond. Our turkeys are ethically raised with plenty of free range to roam, fed a natural diet, and never given unnecessary antibiotics or hormones. Every step of the process — from the way we receive our day-old poults to when we deliver them to your table — reflects our values of integrity, quality, and respect for both the animal and you, the customer.
Whether you’re preparing a holiday feast, hosting a special occasion, or just enjoying a hearty family meal, you can count on Kopp’s Turkeys to deliver unmatched flavor and freshness. We don’t believe in shortcuts or compromises- just good, honest farming and food you can feel great about serving.
From our family to yours — thank you for making Kopp’s Turkeys a part of your table.
Our Journey
See How It All Began
We’ve come a long way since 1932, but our values remain the same: family, quality, and care. Scroll down to learn how Kopp’s Turkeys grew from a single flock operation to a name trusted by generations.
1932
The First Flock
At Christmas in 1932, our Great-Grandmother, Verna Mae Kopp Minges, purchased three breeder hens and one breeder tom, hoping to find a new way to make money shortly after the Great Depression. She fought off poult-eating foxes and egg-eating crows while she began expanding her flock and selling the birds to the Kroger Brothers at Findlay Market. Over time, she grew her flocks from just a handful of birds to hundreds at a time.
1959
Going All In
Before long, Verna, our Great-Grandfather Jonas, and their two sons, Wayne and Dale, outgrew their small patchwork operation. To continue expanding, the family began construction on a processing plant. They sold homes and cars to cover construction costs and to purchase new farms. When the plant was finally finished, it became the very site that we still call home today.
1992
Keeping It in the Family
We moved into our third generation of ownership when Kevin and Steve took over. Having spent their entire lives at the farm, they were well prepared to lead. Under their guidance, the plant flourished, expanding to processing capabilities of thousands per day. By the late 1990’s, Kevin and Steve cemented Kopp’s Turkeys as a cornerstone of Harrison’s business community.
2020
The Newest Generation
A new chapter began at Kopp’s Turkeys, as we entered the fourth generation of ownership. Ryan, Kristin, Adrian, and Kamran took over, aiming to keep Kopp’s Turkeys on its upward trajectory.
Today
The Next Chapter
As a family, we decided it was finally time for a new plant. Our old facility could no longer keep up with the volume of turkeys we were processing, so building a new one was an easy decision. When a property on Old U.S. 52 became available, we purchased it and began designing our new building. In August of 2025, we broke ground at this new site, and we hope to complete construction in the spring of 2027.
